The "Tarte" is an ancient specialty dating back to the Middle Ages. Its origins are believed to lie in Renaissance Italy, where it was very popular. The Tarte au Sucre du Nord (sugar tart of Northern France) is thought to have originated in the 18th century. The Nuns of St. Roger Abbey are proud to present this same recipe to you and thus perpetuate this culinary tradition.
